About Thai massage
This ancient form of massage dates back over 2500 years to the time of Buddha and could be described as a cross between shiatsu, acupressure, and yoga.
Practitioners apply pressure along meridian lines with their thumbs, hands, and feet to stimulate the movement of energy in the body, and in addition, move and stretch their clients in Yoga-like poses to free muscular and joint tension.
All stretching and pressure is done within the comfortable tolerance of the client, and the work is performed in soft comfortable garments on a mat on the floor.
In Thailand the art of traditional massage has been passed down from generation to generation for over 2000 years.
Parents teach their children massage skills they learned from their parents and in this way, Thai massage is passed down as a tradition, treating the body, mind and spirit as one.
