How Walking Changes Your Body

You probably know that being active is important to maintaining your health but this does not always need to involve lifting weights, running, or doing intense aerobics. Did you know that walking can also be beneficial for your health?

Walking Boosts Your Mood & Energy

Walking gets your blood pumping and releases all kinds of feel good compounds in the body, including endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine; all of which can help to boost your mood and energy levels. By taking time to yourself and perhaps listing to music or the sounds of nature while you walk, are beneficial to your mental health.

Walking Helps with Digestion

You hear people tell you all the time to take a walk after a big meal to help combat those extra calories, but the truth is, walking isn’t just about the calorie burn. It also helps to make digestion easier and more comfortable, keeping you from feeling so sluggish after that meal.

Walking Improves Cognitive Performance

Studies have shown that 10 minutes of walking can improve a variety of your cognitive performances, including problem-solving abilities.

Walking Increases Mobility and Reduces Pain

Walking can help improve your mobility and reduce a variety of pains ranging from Peripheral Artery Disease to Parkinson’s and also those who simply struggle with movement from age progression.

Walking Helps Prevent and Control Diabetes

Walking (as well as any cardiovascular exercise) helps your muscles to use more glucose, thereby lowering the blood glucose levels in your body. Staying active and maintaining a healthy weight can help your body to use insulin more efficiently, thereby decreasing your risk of diabetes.

In addition to the benefits listed above, walking is much easier on the body and this makes it easier for most people who struggle with painful conditions such as arthritis. You don’t have to spend hours at the gym each day as by walking just 30 minutes a day can vastly improve your overall health.

So get up, get out, feel better, and make your future healthier in the process!

Noi is not only a truly wonderful lady, but also has a wonderful gift, her massage skills are both theraputic and relaxing. Go and try for yourself, you will feel the benefits and without a doubt return time and again.

I have MS and have been regularly visiting Noi for treatment over 18 months. She is a lovely person and her massage treatments (both traditional Thai & oil) really help me. I would strongly recommend Noi for any condition or just purely for the lovely experience of enjoying a traditional Thai Massage.

The Thai Massage room is so relaxing. Noi is very professional and her experience and love of what she is doing is obvious. I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to the massage room and will be returning again in the very near future.
