Patawe Herbal Compress Balls

Herbal Compresses have been used as an integral part of Traditional Thai Massage for hundreds of years

I am sure that most therapists that use herbal compresses due to their magnificent medicinal properties are aware of how the products should be used in order to gain the maximum benefits for their clients. However, there may be a few that are unsure how or why they should be used so I thought that it may helpful if I were to give you a few useful tips.

In Thailand, Herbal Compresses have been used as an integral part of Traditional Thai Massage treatments for hundreds of years as they are known to aid recovery and increase the feeling of overall well-being. Overleaf, I have listed the properties contained in each compress together with the ingredients in each ball. However, I feel that by adopting the following guidelines, the Herbal Compresses can be used to enhance any form of massage or Spa use, not merely confined to a Traditional Thai Massage.

When the compress has been removed from the airtight bag it will feel hard and fairly solid. The compress should be massaged or kneaded, similar to what you would do with a bread dough mixture in order to loosen up the ingredients, prior to steaming.  You will find that once this has been done, the Herbal Compress will exude a beautiful aromatic aroma.

The Herbal Compress Ball should then be soaked in water for approx. 5- 10 minutes until it is completely wet.

The Herbal Compress ball should then be steamed for approx. 10-15 minutes until yellow oil starts to appear.

Prior to applying the compress to your client, they will appreciate if you briefly explain the properties of the product and the benefits that it may provide. These are listed in the Properties Description overleaf.

Before using the steamed Herbal Compress it is most important to test the product with your palm for temperature before applying to your client’s body or the area that you intend to apply it.

After you have completed your treatment, suggest to your client that they feel and smell the compress for themselves and encourage them to take the product home for their own use as they can reuse it several times.

By explaining their qualities and use this will provide your client with confidence in your knowledge and application of the product

For hygiene reasons, each product should only be used on one person.

Should you require any further information on the method of use of the Herbal Compress Balls please get in touch.

I have MS and have been regularly visiting Noi for treatment over 18 months. She is a lovely person and her massage treatments (both traditional Thai & oil) really help me. I would strongly recommend Noi for any condition or just purely for the lovely experience of enjoying a traditional Thai Massage.

The Thai Massage room is so relaxing. Noi is very professional and her experience and love of what she is doing is obvious. I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to the massage room and will be returning again in the very near future.
