Who is your best friend?

Believe it or not, it is you...

The human body is such an amazing thing so listening to your body when it is trying to tell you something!

A human body can not only can it create life, it can fight off sickness, adapt to its environment and be moulded and formed into what we choose for it. The most amazing part about the human body to me is that if you are in tune with your body, 'it will speak' to you. Your body will tell you what it 'wants or needs' and equally as important, what it 'doesn't want or need'. Your body will talk to you in many ways so you just have to be sure that you are 'listening to it'.

Did you know that hunger could be your body's way of telling you that you are dehydrated? This can also be indicated by sleep deprivation or by headaches your body needs fluid. Have you ever-craved chocolate? This may not just be that you fancy something sweet it can be a sign of a Magnesium deficiency. A craving for refined carbohydrates such as pasta and bread can mean a Nitrogen deficiency.

Have you ever noticed a difference in your body when you eat a certain food? Possibly your stomach may hurt, you get gassy or have stomach cramps? You may even occasionally break out in a rash or your lips may swell. These can all be ways that your body is reacting to and telling you that you have eaten something that it doesn’t like. Have you ever noticed that after you ate a certain meal that your stomach didn’t hurt for a change? If you notice something different about your body, retrace your food for the day or even keep a record of it if your stomach issues have been serious. Slowly eliminate some of the foods that are in your everyday routine to figure out which may be the culprit.

The key is - 'Listen to your body' - your best friend is telling you something !

Another time when you need to listen to your body is when it comes to exercise. If you frequently workout and notice that your endurance is decreasing, your body may be telling you that it’s time to take a rest. This may simply mean a simple rest day, a change in your routine, or a re-evaluation of your fitness goals. Yes, exercise is amazing for your body, and necessary for your health, but overdoing it will not help you to achieve your goals.

Another simple but important factor to bear in mind is to pay attention to your body messages throughout your day. For instance, if you regularly wake up with a specific pain, change the way and position that you are sleeping. If you experience pain or discomfort with particular activities or movements, slow down, pay attention and think about how you could change. Alter your movement in a way that is more comfortable as ‘your body is trying to tell you something’. Your body is intelligent, it knows what it is capable of and when it is near to reaching its breaking point... you better listen to you body before it gets too late.

Remember it is extremely important to listen or your body or it will just speak louder and possibly in ways that are less than desirable and far more serious.

I have MS and have been regularly visiting Noi for treatment over 18 months. She is a lovely person and her massage treatments (both traditional Thai & oil) really help me. I would strongly recommend Noi for any condition or just purely for the lovely experience of enjoying a traditional Thai Massage.

The Thai Massage room is so relaxing. Noi is very professional and her experience and love of what she is doing is obvious. I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to the massage room and will be returning again in the very near future.
